The English-medium MBBS in China typically follows a 5 + 1model: five years of pre-clinical and clinical study, followed by a one-year internship. Many Nepali students choose to complete the internship in Nepal at a recognized hospital, which can be more convenient for sitting the licensing examination afterwards — confirm the internship rules with both your university and the Nepal Medical Council.
An important caveat on language: while lectures are in English at approved universities, real clinical work means talking to Chinese-speaking patients. Universities provide medical-Chinese classes for this reason. Ask each university exactly how clinical rotations and patient interaction are handled in English-medium programs.

China has a published list of universities approved by its Ministry of Education to teach MBBS in English to international students. Rather than chasing rankings, use this verification checklist:
- Confirm the university is on the Ministry of Education approved list for English-medium MBBS for international students. You can review official information via China's Ministry of Education.
- Confirm Nepal Medical Council recognition of that specific university in writing.
- Check the university appears in the World Directory of Medical Schools.
- Ask for a full, year-by-year fee schedule including hostel and any extra charges.
- Ask how clinical rotations work in English and what medical-language support is provided.

A Chinese MBBS does not automatically allow you to practise in Nepal.
